Dipitsi is approximately three [3] hours drive from Sun City.
Sun City offers a myriad of activities for the non hunter. Some of these activities include golfing, games and gambling. It offers world-class hotels. Sun City is internationally known as one of South Africa’s top class resorts, and is visited by millions yearly. There is also the neighbouring Pilanesberg National Park which can be visited as part of the day trip to Sun City.
Dipitsi is bordered by the Matlabas river. In flood, the river is a spectacular site. It mouths into the Limpopo river. The Limpopo is famous for its crocodiles and hippopotomus and of course a myriad of water birds and fish.
A trip to the Limpopo River can be worked into the packages. This site is truly magnificent and highly recommended.
Limpopo Province itself, named after the great Limpopo River, is a land of contrasting landscape. It is South Africa’s northernmost province, placing Dipitsi near the border of Botswana. Approximately 60% of hunting is undertaken in this area. Due to its location on the tropic of Capricorn the summers are long and sunny days are plentiful. Typical to Africa south of the equator, late afternoon thunderstorms cools the earth of the day’s often relentless heat. Electric thunderstorms make for a magnificent display in the African night sky.
The winter months, which normally last from April to July, are legendary for its blue skies during the day with cool to fairly cold mornings and evenings – a quite refreshing contrast to the often extremely hot summer days.
